Here are some important Inland Revenue dates to be prepared for between now and 30th June 2023.
If an IRD due date falls on a weekend or public holiday, IRD can receive your return and payment on the next working day without a penalty being applied.
GST
Period ended 28th February 2023 GST return and payment is due on the 28th March 2023 (monthly filing periods)
Period ended 31st March 2023 GST return and payment is due on the 8th May 2023 (2 monthly & 6 monthly filing periods)
Period ended 30th April 2023 GST return and payment is due on the 29th May 2023 (monthly filing periods)
Period ended 31st May 2023 GST return and payment is due on the 28th June 2023 (2 monthly filing periods)
2022 Income Tax, Student Loan & Working for Families
All 2022 Income Tax and Working for Families is due for payment 7th April 2023.
Provisional Tax
The third 2023 Provisional Income Tax payment is due by the 8th May 2023 for March balance dates.
Cost of Living Payment
To qualify for the cost-of-living payment from the government, you need to have earned $70,000 or less for the financial year ended 31st March 2022. Since the monthly payment dates have passed, if you qualify, you will be paid this in one lump sum. To be able to receive the payment your tax return needs to be filed before the 31st March 2023. If your tax return is filed after the date, you will not qualify for the payment.

Start of the 2023 Financial year - 1 April 2023
The start of the 2023 financial year commences 1 April 2023. All 2023 Financials will be due 31st March 2024.
